Juneau

On my way back from Alaska my car and I boarded a ferry in Whittier and took the Alaska Marine Highway System through the inside passage to Bellingham, Washington. While waiting to transfer ferries, I got to spend three days in Juneau. Despite the hectic mire of cruise ship tourists at the port, I enjoyed Juneau thoroughly. It's a pretty city surrounded by Tongass National Forest, our largest national forest. While in Juneau, I hiked out to two of the glaciers in the forest, my first time to see and touch such an epic force of ice.
