KXSC Sound Sounds 11.23.2016

This playlist is admittedly a little blue-ish. The opening indie pop tracks have R&B tenancies. The indie rock session in the middle waxes emo, before we get into some truly soulful stuff. We end with some electronica, but it really isn't too dancey. Hopefully this playlist can keep someone company when it's just one of those days (that a girl goes through). Looking for some morning inspiration? Tune in to Sound Sounds with Sachi Subterranean and discover new music from a range of genres from house to folk, post-punk to ambient, and everything in between. Each week I listen to all the new releases, handpick the choicest tracks, and lovingly craft them into playlists for music fans with curious minds and open ears. Come find your new favorite artist to obsess over with me! Brought to you by KXSC.org, the student-run radio station of the University of Southern California. I broadcast live from 7:30 to 8:30am PT (GMT -7) every Wednesday. You can stream the show at KXSC.or

A solidly indie rock type playlist this week, though really isn't everything 'post-' now? There's just the right dash of country crossover and a some sprinkles of electronia with a lil' classic hip hop cherry on top for good measure. Dig in and enjoy! Looking for some morning inspiration? This episode was recorded live the morning after the 2016 US presidential election. I wasn't able to sleep after the results were announced, and I did the show with a whole heap of feels. For the 1st minute I reflected on my philosophy about the election, and got a little #realtalk about moral obligation. I spoke from my heart, and I hope it resonates with you, dear listener. This week's episode gets is a little heavier on the indie pop sound, though these days it seems like all pop borrows heavily from electronica and the 90s-inspired R&B revival that I seriously ain't mad at.
