Make More Noise 029

From Kerouac's obsession with the state: "wild, sweaty, important, the land of lonely and exiled and eccentric lovers come to forgather like birds, and the land where everybody somehow looked like broken-down, handsome, decadent movie actors” to gold rush booms and the slow push west of pioneers, to the Hollywood dreams of aspiring starlets, California has captured America's fascination since the very beginning. It is both the ultimate culmination of development and the end of the world before it crashes into the rough Pacific waters, inspiring countless number of songs in both praise and critique. This edition of Make More Noise presents a few of Sachi Subterranean's favorite songs about the golden state. Listen live on Mondays from 1 to 2pm PST at KXSC.org, thanks to USC.
