Call me crazy, but I think emo is making a comeback. ALL HAIL THE SOUNDS OF MY SAD AND ALONE HIGH SCHOOL YEARS! Though I love to throw my dancing shoes on, cut a rug, and blissfully let go, I still kind of think you can't be happy all the time. It isn't realistic.
That's why emo still pulls at my heart strings. Plus, there's so much potential there. There's so much creativity and raw force that can come out of being sad and alone. Don't you remember being an angsty teen, working on the lit mag and going to basement shows that got busted by the cops? I know I wasn't the only one! Even if you've happily moved on to the next stage in your life, it can still be nice to fondly reminisce.
Thankfully there's a new generation of bands that have picked up the emo torch, so we can all cry together!
